Meet the Team

Waxing can be quite exciting. Fortunately, our Wax Technicians don't worry about anything anymore and they make you feel at ease during your treatment.

Meet Shannon, one of our toppers from Breda. We asked her 3 questions about her work as a Wax Technician at The Wax Bar.

What do you like most about working as a Wax Technician?

The contact with the customers! Every day I hear special stories.

What is your best tip for people who have never waxed before?

People often think that the hair should not be long. But this is not a problem. My advice: stop shaving at least 2 weeks before your wax appointment and start scrubbing the place you want to wax a week in advance. Do this about 2 to 3 times a week.

Why The Wax Bar?

I wanted to work for a company that aligns with my own core values and what I find important in an employer. In The Wax Bar and their core values (positivity, confidence, no-nonsense and hands-on) I totally found that!

Why do you like working at The Wax Bar?

The reason I like working at The Wax Bar is that I'm a people person. I love people and when I see how confident our customers leave The Wax Bar after waxing, I have reached my goal for the day!

What do you like most about your job?

The enthusiastic customers and the conversations that take place in the treatment room. I also think the trust that customers have in me is a nice feeling

What is your best tip after waxing?

Scrub well after 48 hours and ALWAYS rub in after exfoliating. This keeps the skin beautiful and prevents irritations. Always ask your Wax Technician for advice about which products are most suitable for your skin. That's what we're here for.

Meet Melanie, one of our toppers in Amsterdam. We asked her 3 questions about her work as a Wax Technician at The Wax Bar.

What do you like most about your job?

The best thing about my job is that I can let people go home super confident, super smooth and ready to face the day! But of course also the super funny and pleasant conversations you can have with the customers.

Why do you work at The Wax Bar?

I like the no-nonsense approach of The Wax Bar to work with. We tell you as a customer exactly what to expect and what the best steps are for aftercare. If you stick to that, waxing will be even faster and better next time!

What misunderstandings do you often hear about waxing?

The biggest misconception you hear is that you are hair-free for 6 weeks from the first waxing. This is not correct, because the first few times you wax, there are still hairs under your skin that still have to come through from shaving. So you get the best result if you come back a few times!

Time for a party, because today our Kim has been employed with us for no less than 10 years! She started as a Barista on June 1, 2011, and then worked for a while as a Store Manager at our location in Rotterdam.

From the second lockdown, Kim took on the role of Customer Support. So there is a good chance that - when you contact us - you will end up with Kim.

You can recognize Kim by her spontaneity, her smile, and her great support for both customers and team members.

We asked her 3 questions about her work at The Wax Bar:

Why have you been with The Wax Bar for 10 years?

Contact with customers and cooperation with the team. After 10 years it feels like my 2nd home and I still enjoy going to work every day.

What do you like most about your job?

The entire wax bar team and further contact with my customers.

What's your top tip for first-time waxers?

Don't be afraid, everything will be fine and nothing is weird.

Thank you Kim for the past 10 years, I hope you have many more wonderful years to come!
