Want to know more about waxing?

Good preparation is half the battle, my mother always told me. To make your treatment as comfortable as possible, here are some tips for you:

1. Let it grow

Your hair needs about two to three weeks to grow before you can wax it. It is very important that you do not trim or shave it during these weeks. Your hair must be at least 5mm long to get the best results from the treatment.

2. Preparation

For best results, lightly exfoliate your skin for a few days before waxing. This will remove all dead skin cells and loosen the hairs, making it easier to remove the hairs. Before the start of the treatment, you will be asked to cleanse and freshen up. Your skin must be completely clean at the start of the treatment.

3. First time

During intimate treatments such as the Brazilian Wax, you will have to take off your undergarments completely. You can just keep your outerwear on. Our Wax Technicians are not concerned with the shape or size of your body and you do not have to worry about this. We strive to make you as comfortable as possible and we understand that you may be a little nervous. We handle this with care.

4. Pain

The Wax Bar waxing method is as quick and painless as possible. We'd be lying if we told you you don't feel it, but it's less painful than you expect and the pain will get less and less the more you wax. Our wax has been specially developed so that it grips the hair, but not the skin. This also reduces the degree of pain.

Important

Some skin conditions, medicines and cosmetics make your skin more sensitive or thinner. In some situations, we do not recommend waxing. The Wax Technician will inform you sufficiently about this during your consultation or presence in The Wax Bar. If you have any questions, you can always contact us.

After waxing

1. Keep it clean

24 to 48 hours after treatment:

During these hours, you should keep your skin extra clean and avoid heat and friction. To keep the skin clean, it is best to use an antibacterial product, such as our Aleppo Soap Liquid or Cube. The Wax Technician can inform you about this. Further advice is: do not shower too hot, do not go in the sauna and wait a while before exercising and using the sunbed. Do not wear constricting clothing and only touch the treated skin with clean hands. It is best to keep the waxed skin out of the sun during this period.

2. Scrub

From 3 days after the treatment:

From now on you can exfoliate your skin. Do this with a coarse grain and scrub your skin 2 to 3 times a week to remove all dead skin cells. For example, you can use our Face & Body Scrub and a scrub glove.

Note: During your first wax treatment, it is normal that there is a slight redness of the skin. This colour should disappear within 24 hours. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to contact our Customer Support!
